Seniors Connect NS is a Seniors Centre Without Walls program helping older adults stay socially connected across Nova Scotia. We’re growing and we're looking for a caring, reliable Volunteer Facilitator to host friendly group phone calls from home.
You will connect with seniors in your region of the province.

What the Role Looks Like

Host two 30-minute group phone calls each week (topics & games provided)

One-on-one check-in calls with participants
-
Follow a script, lead a simple game, or spark conversation

Engage participants and help everyone feel welcome

No program planning required. We provide everything you need

What Skills or Tools are Needed to Volunteer?
You'll love being a Volunteer Program Facilitator if:
-
You’re friendly and love connecting with people
-
You’re patient, inclusive, and a good listener
-
You respect confidentiality and participant privacy
-
You’re comfortable with Zoom/Google Meet or similar platforms
-
You have reliable internet, a computer or tablet, and a smartphone
-
You can commit 2–3 hours per week
-
You’re open to training and occasional check-ins with staff

Yarmouth, Shelburne, Queens, Lunenburg counties, and anywhere in Cape Breton
This opportunity is open to anyone of any age who meets the requirements and wants to help build social connection in their community.

A Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required (free of charge).
